Jack Palmer is a Naarm / Melbourne based music + sound artist, audio-engineer, guitarist, and music educator. Jack’s work is characterised by paradox and emotional contradiction - visceral assertiveness held by meditative equipoise.


Spanning computer music production, improvisation, audio-video systems design, and installation, Jack has featured as an artist / performer at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, La Mama Theatre, Darebin Arts Speakeasy, George Patton Gallery, Backwoods Gallery, Cecil Place Precinct, One Night In Footscray, West-Projections festival, Ruthin International Arts Festival (UK), New North, Opus Now, among many others. Jack has worked with local and international collaborators, including dancers, visual artists, poets, and instrumentalists, working across electronic music, contemporary dance, post-rock, and experimental mediums; he recently collaborated with Speak Percussion for the Brunswick Music Festival.


In 2024, Jack’s electronic music project ‘Bad Ambulance’ released its 6th studio album, ‘Intel 95’ through revered underground Australian experimental music label ‘Nice Music’. As well as debuting ‘Bad Ambulance AV’ — a revamped a-v live show developed during his participation in Speak Percussion’s Bespoke Artist Development Program (2023-24).


Teaching and sharing knowledge is central to Jack’s artistic activities, he currently teaches guitar and digital music production both privately and at multiple Schools.
