Equilibrium is a sound installation that aims to change our perception of reality. The grimy and familiar alleyway entrance to the Footscray Market is transformed immediately with the use of continuous sine tones (pure tones consisting of a single pitch or frequency) to generate a blissful and interactive soundscape. The work gestures towards a larger notion of union underpinning the relative realities we live out everyday.
